The Adult Emergency Department warmly welcomes you to deal with any unforeseen or critical medical situation. Established within a leading hospital hub in the capital, our department is designed to offer humane, reassuring, and highly professional care to every patient aged 15 and over.

We are committed to providing you with continuous excellent care, notably through an alternating on-call system organized with regional facilities. Our multidisciplinary team makes every effort to ensure rapid assessment, appropriate treatment, and safe referral to specialized services in Luxembourg.

Expertise

• Diagnostic and therapeutic management of acute medical conditions
• Management of surgical and traumatological emergencies (including the application of casts and splints)
• Management and referral of psychiatric emergencies
• Rapid assessment of severity and patient triage according to international standards (Canadian Triage Scale)
• Medical monitoring and short-term care within the « Lits Porte » observation unit
• Coordination of critical care in close collaboration with the SAMU
• Referral and rapid transfer to the facility's specialized clinical departments
